Giuseppe Lamanna is the Chef of the luxury resort Ca’ del Moro Wine Retreat located in the Veronese hills where, with his dishes, he interprets the territory in an elegant and non-invasive way with the right balance between eco-sustainability, tradition and innovation. He joins this reality in March 2021, but let's start from the beginning.
Giuseppe Lamanna was born in Calabria in Soriano Calabro in the province of Vibo Valentia on 23/12/90. He spent his childhood with his family in Dinami, a village in the hills of Calabria. He went to school and at the age of 14 and 15, in accordance with his father's wishes, he began to gain work experience in local restaurants during the summer months. At 16, he had his first experience outside the region, and at 19, he graduated from the Serra San Bruno hotel school and immediately left for other experiences in kitchens throughout Italy. At the age of 27, he won his first job as chef in a beautiful hotel in Courmayeur with a brigade of 7 cooks. In the following years, he managed more complex structures, even with brigades of 15 cooks. In March 2021, he arrived at the helm of the kitchen of Cà del moro Wine Retreat, the resort within the vineyards of the La collina dei Ciliegi winery in Valpantena. Here he feels at ease and in tune with the territory, in fact he was immediately successful and was talked about with articles in newspapers and television interviews. In the company, he not only takes care of the kitchen, but also plays the role of Manager in certain departments such as human resources, marketing collaborations and development of the structure and services. The restaurant in a short time under his leadership obtains Two Forks in the Gambero Rosso Guide, immediately afterwards enters the Guide De L'espresso in the best 1000 restaurants in Italy, the Identità Golose Guides as new entry of the year, in the prestigious Michelin Guide, and finally in the excellence guide of the Vicenza newspaper. The establishment also obtains the Dream&Charm Certified Sustainability.
