The Dock Operator course is responsible for the handling of goods and loading and unloading operations. He coordinates activities between the various departments and ensures that operations run smoothly. In addition, he/she must monitor weather conditions and report any hazards. The operator works closely with on-board and ground personnel. He must communicate effectively with crew members to ensure that procedures are followed correctly. This collaboration is crucial for the safety and efficiency of operations. Managing port operations requires careful planning and coordination. The dock operator must constantly monitor ongoing activities, ensuring that goods are handled efficiently and safely. They must also manage any unforeseen events, such as delays or technical problems, and find quick solutions to minimise the impact on operations. Operators must have the ability to solve technical problems and adapting to new technologies is equally important.

-predicting the effect of the wind and sea on boats when approaching the quay and when mooring. .
