Yachting Seaman Course

The yachting sailor course is an essential training course for those aspiring to
to enter the luxury nautical sector, a field that requires a highly skilled
specialised. This programme is designed to equip participants with the
technical and practical skills necessary to operate professionally and safely at
on board yachts. Through a combination of theoretical lectures and practical sessions, the
trainees will learn everything about navigation, maritime safety, service to
on board and the techniques of mooring and manoeuvring, thus becoming competent professionals and
required in this exclusive field.
To ensure the high quality of the training and compliance with international standards, it is
required that all candidates possess the mandatory certifications predefined by the
harbour masters' offices before registering for the course. These certifications are essential for
ensure that participants have the basic knowledge indispensable for safety
at sea and are ready to delve into the more advanced and specific aspects of working on board of
a yacht.

Who is it addressed to?

The yachtsman must have a number of technical and character traits to perform his role to the best of his ability, in particular he must demonstrate:
ability to live and work in close contact and constricting environments and to work in a team or autonomously, planning work in order to complete it on time and in the required manner.

Ability to work in stressful situations related to weather conditions
Available at widely flexible hours

Being registered in the first and second category on the Seafarers' portal

The programme

Reception and management of guests :
Etiquette: how to address owners or guests.

Ship mooring management (use of winch, tonnage and knots)

Knowledge of safety equipment (epirb, sart, life jackets, life rafts, fire-fighting systems and general breakdowns)
Safety equipment and its use (GPS, sounder, radar, electronic charting system)

Daily room cleaning: which products to use, how and when
Interior and exterior cleaning of a sailing boat and a motor boat

The training project

- study of the preparatory texts provided by our Institute;
- 6-month English language course 'all you can learn' formula. If you already have at least a self-certified B2 level of English, you can choose another of the following languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian;
- Safety at work course (Legislative Decree 81/08) on FAD platform for the duration of 8 hours of General Training + Low Risk, with relative issue of certificate.
2. Phase:
- 32 hours of theoretical-practical lessons in the virtual classroom from 7 October to 15 November 2024.
3. Phase:
- No. 16 hours of practical lessons on board a yacht at the port of Bari 18 and 19 November 2024.
4. Optional Basic Training Phase
Basic Training (IMO STCW) is a package of compulsory courses required for specific qualifications that one needs to undertake to pursue a maritime career.
The package will take place at the certified professional training centre: CENTRO NAUTICO SALERNO ( C.N.S) SRLS with the issuing of the relevant certificates. The duration is 7 days including Sunday.
